  • Great place for a proper meal and Izakaya vibes This is a fantastic spot for Okinawa-style Japanese food, with such a wide variety that you could visit several times a month and still enjoy something new each time. Most of the dishes are really delicious. I highly recommend the Okinawan Shoyu Pork and the Avocado Salad — both are must-try items. I’ll definitely be going back again soon!

  • Every time I’m around Phra Khanong, I make the turn into Sukhumvit 69 (even though it’s a bit tricky) just for this place. Totally worth it! Okinawa Kinjo has such authentic flavors and a cozy vibe. My must-orders are the Okinawa Bowl, Goya Champuruu, and their super smooth Jimami Tofu. Comfort food at its best. If you want something different from the usual Japanese spots in Bangkok, this is a real hidden gem.

  • Mixture of Japanese and Chinese as Okinawa food cultures. The standout dish that will keep me coming back to Okinawa Kinjo is their Okinawan braised pork belly. It tastes like it's been lovingly simmered for hours. What really sets Okinawa Kinjo apart is their selection of small dishes that i can mix and match - it's like browsing through a Japanese home cook's repertoire of comfort food.

  • # Okinawa Kinjo Restaurant Review - พระโขนง A legendary Okinawan restaurant that’s been around for years. Despite the challenging parking situation that keeps me from visiting more often, this place delivers an authentic experience worth the hassle. ## What I Ordered **Udon with Pork Belly & Bitter Melon** - Classic Okinawan specialties that hit all the right notes. The bitter melon (goya) is prepared perfectly, balancing the traditional flavors without being overwhelming. **Missed Opportunity**: Didn’t get to try their **Awamori** (Okinawan sake made from long-grain or Thai rice) - definitely saving that for next time. ## Atmosphere & Extras The restaurant has that authentic, aged charm that only comes with time. **Second floor hosts live music events** - sometimes free, sometimes ticketed. Adds a nice cultural touch to the dining experience. ## The Reality Check **Parking can be tricky.** This is honestly the main reason I don’t come here more often, despite loving the food. ## Bottom Line Authentic Okinawan cuisine in Bangkok with genuine flavors and cultural atmosphere. The food quality and authenticity make up for the parking struggles. **Rating: 5/5 ⭐** **Best for:** Authentic Japanese food lovers, those seeking cultural dining experiences **Heads up:** Plan extra time for parking

  • I visited this place during the Bangkok Friday rush hour (03/10/25), tired and hungry. I found it on Hungry Hub, so my girlfriend and I decided to book a table. The parking situation could have been better if customers travelling by car were informed in advance, but since there’s an underground parking lot right before the restaurant, it wasn’t an issue. From the moment I walked in, the Okinawan street-style atmosphere hit me straight away — the scent, the furniture, and the decorations all blended perfectly. The building itself is rather old, and while a few corners looked a bit dark and worn, it was still clean and up to standard. It’s a little cramped, but their efficient table layout makes good use of the space. We sat on the second floor, Japanese-style on the tatami floor, with surprisingly comfortable floor chairs with backrests. The menu is huge! I was honestly overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start. Luckily, the staff member taking care of our table, Khun Tawan (ตะวัน), was incredibly helpful, polite, and patient with us. We ended up letting him choose the dishes for us, and he took the time to explain each one, from the flavours to the ingredients. I couldn’t have asked for better service. A big thank you to him for his hospitality, it really made this restaurant a new go-to spot for me, and I’ll happily recommend it to others. All in all, a solid 4.5 stars from me, with an unquestionable 10/10 for service. Thank you again, Khun Tawan, for a wonderful evening!

  • Food was excellent and priced really well. Definitely good value for money spent. We packed at the mall kind of opposite called summer point, 20 baht an hour. Service was good. Only thing bothered us was loud drunk japanese, but I supposed it was to be expected on my part as it is a drinking establishment, and I have to accept that.

  • Authentic Okinawa foods restaurant. Love its set meals with large portions and reasonable prices. Stir fried Bitter melon(Go-ya champuru) is the most famous Okinawa foods and it's a must-try item. You can order ala carte or set meal. So-ki Soba noodle is another unique dish which is different from classic Japanese Soba noolde or Ramen. You should try this too as it is difficult to find it in other Japanese restaurant.
